Mokuru is Tswana for turtle dove, and the name captures the mood of this tranquil destination in unspoilt African Bushveld.  Mokuru Game Ranch, just an hour’s drive from Pretoria, is an ideal spot for a weekend break, a small conference or a quiet holiday.....

There is a variety of game on the 300 hectare property, including zebra, wildebeest, blesbok, impala, kudu, waterbuck red hartebeest, nyala and giraffe.   About 18 kilometres of roadway winds through the bush and guests can view game from a hired game vehicle, or on foot.

There are three well marked hiking trails available for the enthusiast  who wants to view game and bird life on foot.

Waterholes and a large natural dam provide excellent spots for viewing and photographing game and the abundant bird life.

A climb to the top of one of the boulders next to the main camp will be rewarded by a breathtaking panoramic view of the unspoilt terrain.  This high spot is best in the late afternoon when you can savour the atmosphere of the bush, watch the sun set and listen to bird life.

For variety, guests can visit Sun City (50 minute's drive), go fishing at Vaalkop (40 minutes away) or fish at Roodekopjes Dam (20 minutes away) or spend the day at several of the other game reserves in the vicinity.
